Going back to work?

I love being a stay-at-home mom! It is fabulous. Staying home allows me to do so many things with my kids that I may not have the time for otherwise. Like all the great stuff I have done with them this summer. I love that I get the chance to be a room mom for Liza's class. I had a blast being able to spend 2 days a week volunteering at the school last year. Well, this year, PJ will also be in school. Just 4 days a week, part days. So I am thinking about applying to the school for some of the part time jobs that are opening. This is a great time to do it, new school, new positions. I have submitted an application for one such position. It is 4 hours a day as an office assistant. But, that leaves me needing to put PJ in daycare 4 hours, 1 day a week and 1 hour the other 4 days. I would still have plenty of time to be room mom and still get to plan all the parties. It's either do this now, or wait another 2 years when PJ goes into first grade. I guess I will see if the school district calls me about the office job. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

  1. It can be a tough decision to stay home or go back to work. Part-time is great choice to have. I am able to work part-time and still be the room mom. I found a great site that make being a room mom much less time consuming - www.volunteerspot.com. It makes organize parent volunteers and school parties so much quicker and no more back and forth emails.
